Many parts of your microscope can be updated or replaced including microscope lamps, lenses, and eyepieces. Replacement lamps, light sources, and power cords can extend the working lives of your microscopy equipment. New or replacement objectives and lenses can help increase the total magnification available with your microscope.
Add greater magnification or exchange your eyepiece for one with a reticule to more easily estimate the sizes of the items being viewed.
Replace or update your mechanical stage or clamps or add cell culture vessel adapters to facilitate specimen positioning.
Condensers can also be replaced, and conversion kits are available to add phase contrast, polarization, fluorescence, or other capabilities to your current system.
Some microscopes can be adapted for use with still or video cameras. Look for cameras and adapters designed for your specific microscope brand. Film and documentation-related products may also be available to support your record-keeping.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Quantifoil Holey Carbon Film R 0.6/1 on Gold 300 mesh Grid
QUANTIFOIL is a perforated support foil with pre-defined hole size, shape and arrangement. It has advantages in electron microscopy (EM) or low-energy electron point source (LEEPS) microscopy when compared with conventional holey film.
QUANTIFOIL with circular holes is used in cryo-electron tomographic reconstruction. The roundness of the holes is advantageous with respect to the formation of an ice layer of constant thickness. The whole size chosen depends on the magnification used, and on whether or not one wishes to include support film in the image. Assessment of the image quality is easier when foil is included in the picture, because the power spectrum of a foil is stronger than that of unsupported ice.

Electron Microscopy Sciences High Resolution Magnification Calibration 150-2D For AFM
Model 150-2D is a very high resolution reference and traceable standards for magnification calibration of AFM, SEM, Auger, and FIB. It has a precision, holographic pattern that provides accurate calibration in the horizontal plane for very high resolution, nanometer-scale measurements.
The period is 144 nm pitch, two-dimensional array that is accurate to +/- 1 nm (calibration certificate will have actual pitch.) Surface: Aluminum bumps on Silicon, 4x3 mm die. Bump height (about 90 nm) and width (about 75 nm) are not calibrated.
For SEM an independent analytical lab has tested this specimen in a FE-SEM and found that the pattern was very uniform and the specimen was easy to image. No significant charging was observed in the voltage range 1-20 kV. Comes with a non-traceable, manufacturer's certificate.
Ted Pella Inc PELCO Center-Marked Grids, 300 mesh, 3.0mm O.D., Copper
The PELCO Grids are usually somewhat thicker than similar TEM grids made by electro plating processes which makes them stiffer and easier to handle without the danger of bending, but still maintain a good definition of the grid bars. The wide rims (350-400µm) on the PELCO Grids provide additional stiffness and minimize the potential of interfering with the sample when picking up and handling the grids with tweezers. The popular PELCO Grids were introduced 45 years ago and have found a large user base in all disciplines of TEM. The grids have a shiny (smooth) finish on one side and matte (rough) or dull finish on the other side. Grids have all been inspected before packaging. A comprehensive selection of different grid styles is offered with the standard outside diameter of 3.05mm.

Bioworld Cargille Type A Immersion Oil 100ml
Cargille has been serving microscopists since 1940 when it introduced the first non-drying immersion oil formula. Since then, they have continued to improve and expand their line of immersion oils to become the undisputed leaders in immersion oil technology. Oils are available in a number of different formulations and can be readily mixed to create intermediate viscosities as required. The oil is stable, non-hardening, non-drying, clear, odorless and has low fluorescence. Types A offers a viscosity of 150 and is used in normal light microscopy. 100ml

Since then, they have continued to improve and expand their line of immersion oils to become the undisputed leaders in immersion oil technology. Oils are available in a number of different formulations and can be readily mixed to create intermediate viscosities as required. Microscopists requiring fluorescence free immersion oils will want to use either PCB-free Type DF, with the highest resolution of any fluorescence immersion oil, or PCB-free Type FF. Type FF immersion oil provides virtually no background fluorescence making it ideal for observing low levels of fluorescence.
